Good day!
I am Miss Marianne Garcia, an educator currently working in one of the top universities here in Manila. Currently I am residing here in Mandaluyong, and though we were also affected by Typhoon Ondoy, We still strive to survive here in the city by means of our work/employment here.
I am writing you this email to appeal to your kind heart to help my "kabarangay" at Brgy. Lipay, Villasis, Pangasinan. As you've shown and reported in your shows/news, our barangay was one of the mostly affected areas of typhoon Pepeng, through the release of water from the San Roque Dam. Our barangay is very near the Agno River, where the water from the dam passed by. However, because of the strong force/current or whatever you call it that causes most houses and livelihood in our area to be washed out, many families losed their homes, crops form their farms, etc, especially those who are near the dikes which collapsed Friday morning. They are in DIRE NEED of basic commodities (Food/clothing/medicine) to help them recover first themselves and their families, before starting to rehabilitate their homes/lives. I have heard that most relief operations and goods were mostly given in towns of Rosales and other areas and some even received several bags a day per family. But in our Barangay Lipay, in the town of Villasis, which was heavily affected by the release of water in the dam, they received only once, from Loren Legarda's group, a relief pack each person/family which comprised only of bottled water, a couple or 3 of canned goods and some noodles. These are not enough for their needs. According to my mom, Mrs. Eugenia Garcia (since our house is not that affected except for the flood which enters our house), a lot of them had been asking house to house for clothing, supplies for cleaning, food which my mom would willingly give especially if we have excess of it. But these still are not enough.
Our barangay was one of the first who received strong/large amount of water from the dam, but receives less of the help from outside. I know rosales receives a lot because the town was always shown and mentioned in news and TV/radio... I don't have anything against them or in other town, in fact I am happy because help has come their way already.
BUT I HOPE that you will also consider our barangay... please I appeal for your help, because the people in my barangay has nobody to turn to now. I know a lot has been affected too in Pangasinan, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga and Tarlac, but i hope that help will also get into our area in BRGY LIPAY VILLASIS PANGASINAN through you...
I am now in Manila and I dont know how else to help my people in our barangay aside from my prayers. Our universities relief goods are already given to the victims of ondoy here in NCR and nearby provinces. We dont have much to give to the victims of Pepeng anymore. SO I will really appreciate any kind of help that you could give them... Actually I really do appreciate/commend all the help that you've done for the Filipino people through the years... May our good Lord give back to you the blessings that you give to others.

My mother and her neighbors have taken pictures of the flooding and awful situations they have experienced with Ondoy, reporting back to Senator Villar, who had recently constructed and overfilled his lot on the other side of C5 Road. Due to his recent construction, the local creek had been filled (rain water no longer has a place to go except for neighboring streets), while his land is over towering the local homes, further worsening the flood situations there. To note, Ondoy and Pepeng are the worst floodings, of many, Phase 6 has experienced. My mother's home, in particular, was flooded up to her waist, whereas the streets' water level is at the chest level. Other areas in Manuyo Dos has suffered worse as the flood reached rooftops. Up until now, no response or help regarding the situation has happened. Senator Villar has taken no responsibility nor shown any help or consideration for the sufferings caused by his recent construction. They cannot deny the fact that Phase 6, Manuyo Dos, Las Pinas has been flooded as relief goods were distributed earlier on last week. Please help us reveal this horrid situation in the media so Senator Villar can take, and make, the appropriate steps to claiming some responsibility for the worsened flooding conditions residents of Manuyo Dos has been experiencing.
