What is the relationship between geography and affluence?

The term affluence is normally associated with wealth, but the United States is affluent in cultural diversity. How has cultural diversity played a role in becoming an affluent nation? Compare and contrast the cultural diversity of the United States to other affluent nations. Ever since the 1600s, the United States has seen an increase in the number of people emigrating from other countries. Most people immigrated in hopes of a better life because the United States is an affluent nation.

Phi Theta Kappa is exploring the correlation between affluence nations and the trend of immigration.
