PlaygroundNeither swing set nor play structure have proscribed impact zone. Current impact zone is hard packed soil. There are standards for recommended impact zone materials and depth of materials (such as mulch).Aesthetics of play structure is poor. For many visitors, this is the first thing they see. Aesthetics of green chain link fence could be improved.1Immediate removal of swing set and play structure.
Consider removal of chain link fence coupled with alternative landscaping of the play area. Consider installation of first class playground equipment and landscaping. Alternatively, consider paving for additional parking.
Removal of playground equipment and fence complete. Reseeding complete.

.

Exterior door locksDoor lock parts for current doors are no longer available.Gini mentioned that she was approached by a male stranger inside the building at night. She was alone in the building and had no idea anyone else was in the building. 1Immediate replacement of all doors without functioning locks or with locks for which replacement parts are no longer available. Install compatible lock sets in any doors which are not replaced.
Consider installation of video cameras at each entrance with a monitor in the office so that staff can see who is at the door at night.

Ceiling mold/leakCeiling was painted with stain kill within the last several years. Mold is already back. In fact, there is probably more mold now than before the ceiling was repainted. It appears that a roof leak may be admitting the moisture. Ed notes that there are noticeable stress cracks going up the roof on the side facing Glenwood.Excessive mold can be a health hazard. Unchecked water damage may lead to pieces of the ceiling falling.Worshipers who should happen to look up are greeted by quite an eyesore.2Hire a roofer who can determine the cause of the leak or other source of moisture. If necessary, open the roof to trace the source of the water.
Repair the leaks.
After verifying the leak has been stopped, reseal and repaint the molded areas of the interior roof.
Evaluate the lifespan of the current shingles and consider re-shingling.
Roof investigated by roofers. Does not appear to be a water leak. Instead appears to be condensation.

.

Improve ventilationThe sanctuary can exhibit a musty smell. Unpleasant smells can consciously or subconsciously discourage worshipers. 4Have the sanctuary evaluated by a ventilation expert.
Consider installing ceiling fans, or other means of increasing ventilation.

.

Stained glass windowSeveral members have expressed interest in seeing a stained glass window or panel installed in the front of the sanctuary on the wall behind the alter. This would add some color and focus to the altar area, and fits with traditional ecclesiastical architecture.6Study the building plans to determine necessary modifications to the wall. Get an estimate for the project, and suggest that individual donors might want to tackle it.

.

Replace existing stained glass panelsThe current windows in the side walls of the sanctuary are purely geometric. They have no ecclesiastical purpose. One might prefer that attention be focused on the altar area.6Replace stained glass panels with simple frosted glass panels.

Bring Sunday School classes upstairsThe classrooms (particularly under the sanctuary) have some significant aesthetic challenges.
