The extensions could be to blame, as I forced compatibility with some Nightly Tester Tool add-on. Nonetheless, FF3 betas & RC have not looked promising up against the amazing speed of Safari 3.1.1.

It looks so great and the fact that it uses a lot less memory is super impressive (not to mention, the Mac skinning sounds great). But add-ons are my favorite feature of Firefox and what really keeps me using the browser.

I'm using the last RC as my default browser (at home, at work...).
However I have to say that the lack of add-on compatibility is the only problem that need a solution to make Firefox the "Perfect Browser"!

I've got it working by using the nightly tester add-on to override the compatibility problem, but I'm worried that might go away when FF3 stable rolls out. why need minimize to tray with an extension.. it must be built-in ... and to view to tabs vertical.. must be built-in.... searching ctrl f is very bad... all windows users keen on pop up windows... but firefox.. search bar is bottom of the screen... it makes windows users sick.. :)

So now I most of the time use Firefox. You can find many special feature from the addon. Eg: Scrapbook for Offline read; ArchView to view the zipped Gmail attachment etc. dragdropupload to attach the file in Gmail. They all are very cool. I support Firefox. You do a good job.

I'm only use IE for Windows update and Bank web site.(In China, most of the bank web page are special designed for IE 6.0)

It was difficult at first for me to live without my Google toolbar, but I found that the Groowe Search toolbar can be customized to look and function exactly the same, sans the custom search buttons. I use GMarks for my Google Bookmarks and Better Gmail 2 is a great substitute for the Greasemonkey scripts I usually use.

The one thing that I am having difficult living without is Google Send-To-Phone. I hope it is made compatible soon.

Otherwise, the new Firefox is awesome. The download feature is superior to before and I LOVE that when I install new add-on's or themes I can restart my browser like before, but this time it restarts with all my previous tabs in place.

Overall the Firefox 3 is even more functional than before and much faster. Especially the gmail interface. And check out the "Pitch Dark" theme. Its cool as hell!

It has even become a temporary replacement for Super DragAndGo, though the inability to drag out links in any direction I want is a bit of a pain. FoxyTunes can be done without now that I've got the Google Sidebar and I doubt I will reinstall it as I like to keep a single toolbar in my browser at all times to maximize browser viewing. I suppose I could put it in the bottom tray, but it gets to be quite tedious when I keep accidentally pull up the taskbar which I like to keep hidden.

Firebug was the biggest reason to move back to Firefox 2...the version I was using just wasn't usable enough for my needs (console was broken, inspector periodically crashed the browser, etc.). I also rely on Google Browser Sync to keep my work and home environments in sync...I live in my browser when I'm on a computer, and I like to keep things in sync. I found weave completely unusable for me...it was too unstable when I tried it and resulted in several crashes. I had to get rid of it in a matter of hours, which to me says it's nowhere near ready for prime time.

I want my Firefox 3...but not at the expense of my productivity. So, for now, Firefox 2 is my choice as I stay tuned in to my favorite extensions to make sure they play nice.

infoRSS, PDF download, adblock plus, firebug, and greasemonkey.

I love infoRSS - it's the only RSS newsreader that publishes the feeds in a bar like a newsticker. That way I see the news while I'm browsing the internet. I wish another add-on did this because infoRSS is dragging itself along, but no one else does!

But on the other hand, Firefox 3 is full of awesome features. So I have my solution... Change the "max version" data to 3.0 in the install file inside the .xpi (which I extracted using WinZip). If the addon have bugs or is not ready for Firefox 3, I'll just uninstall them. Currently, all of the addons that works for Firefox 2.0.0.14 works for Firefox 3. So Currently I have no problems with all the addons I have.

I'm 12 and you'd never think a 12-year-old would even care about a web browser, but I have used the FF3b5, and the rest of the class think Internet Explorer is the Internet, and they have no idea that it is just a window to the Internet. It is impossible to tell them that you can uninstall IE and still surf the web. lol! Thanks 4 Firefox!!!

I've used the Web Developer tool bar as well as FireFTP, StumbleUpon and Bookmark Sync and was bummed out to find that none of these add-ons updated when I upgraded my browser. I'm hoping all these add-ons will be available for FF3 (for Mac) ASAP!

6/24/2008 8:10:41All-in-One Gestures , Mouse Gestures , Tab Mix Plus 8atlanta, gai am a poweruser, and i was excited about Firefox 3. i went back to Firefox 2 though, when i found tabs-mix-plus to be unavailable. and i know mouse gestures has a 3.0 equivalent (FireGestures?), but it doesnt have the ability for multiple gestures to do the same effect (for example, a right-mouse-click-drag-up can both open a blank new tab and ALSO open a link in a new tab with AllinOneGestures, but FireGestures doesn't appear to be able to do this).

I will not get FireFox 3 until these features are available. It's part of the experience, and I'm willing to sacrifice all the good that Firefox3 is used for until these add-ons are available
