The cost is $20 the second time. It is $30 the thrid time and a parent muct pick it up then; they also receive a citation (3 lead to probation). Afte the 3rd time the cost goes up $10 per time with a citation and parent pick up. If they are using someone else's phone, both parties pay the fine. Cell phones can be used before and after school but only in the school lobby or outside, at no time are cell phones allowed to be used in the academic portion of the building. | The first offense requires the parents to set up an appointment with the Vice Principal to retrieve the phone. At this meeting the parents sign a form stating that if their son is caught again they will serve a one day in school suspension. If the student is caught sending a text message in addition to the parent meeting and or suspension they recieve 10hours of manual labor. |

My concern is the camera phones. Iowa has a state law regarding the expectation of privacy and that is published in our student handbook. I would hate to have a teacher of mine appear on UTube for example. Texting during church has been observed more than once! Nancy Peart |
