Technical Notes:

.

2. The hose that had been used last summer had been left out in the yard all winter. As the snow melts, the hose is exposed and thoughts of the summer ahead emerge.

.

4. It is a little unusual to buy a car over the Internet. It has a relatively high price and most buyers like to physically "kick the tires". However, I've heard some folks that have bought a car on-line. The real point of the verse and the connection to the theme is that one is leaving his credit card number with the car company via the web, still a bit of a risk these days.

.

5. Leaving your wallet at home: for some folks this is easy to do. Since one usually keeps their driver's license in their wallet, driving without your wallet is obviously a little risky.
