3. When kids play outside in the snow their mittens, socks, and other woolen clothing typically gets caked with snow and when they come inside it melts and has a distinctive odour.

4. In Junior High I learned how to make gun powder from stuff I could get at the drug store. These days I suppose the burning of sulfur might used to disguise the smell of other burned substances.
