EMA General Assembly Delegates Survey on Erasmus Mundus course selection

The purpose of this survey is to identify the key issues of importance to EMA members in preparation for the Erasmus Mundus Selection Board meeting on 19 June 2009. The meeting is designed to provide support to the Executive Agency of the European Commission in their selection of Erasmus Mundus Masters Courses (EMMCs) under Action 1 of the Erasmus Mundus 2009-2013 programme. The EMA would like to know what the EMA members see as important in the selection of future programmes.

The EMA would like to provide recommendations to the Erasmus Mundus Selection Board based on the past experiences of EMA members. The following topics have been raised as important to current Erasmus Mundus students, but this list is not exhaustive. Please provide information on how important you feel each of these topics are for the selection of future EMMCs and any problems or best practices you have identified in your EMMC. Curriculum design (Academic calendars, assessment/examination procedures, reading list structures, contact hours)

Teaching and supervision (Experience of academics, quality of teaching, commitment to supervision)

Mobility structure (Length of placements, student choice in mobility, synchronisation across institutions)

Administrative support for students (Support with visas, accommodation, welcome/orientation and settling in, communication between administrators and students)

Erasmus Mundus scholarships (Selection of scholarship recipients, payments of scholarships)

Career prospects (Professional orientation of curriculum and teaching, internship opportunities)
