Jews Marching Together For Pride!

Dear Friend,

Inspired by our core Jewish value that every human being is created betzelem elohim, in the image of the divine, our Bay Area Jewish community is organized to march in San Francisco's Annual Pride Parade this Sunday, June 28. Together our Jews March for Pride contingent will feature the overarching message: we are the Jewish community; we are diverse; we overwhelmingly support marriage equality. Below you can register to meet us for a complimentary breakfast at 9:30am at the Beale Street Bar and Grill (133 Beale Street at Mission 2 blocks from the Embarcadero BART/MUNI Station) thanks to the generosity of the Eckstein Family.

The parade starts at 10:30 outside the Beale Street Bar and Grill and continues for 1.5 miles down market street ending at Civic Center. From there, our contingent ends and you have the option of joining the Pride Celebration with a variety of exhibitors, artists, performers and dance stages.

Are you interested in being a Contingency Monitor? * Every organizational contingent is required to provide one or more Contingency Monitors (depending on the size of your party). Contingency Monitors are volunteers that will walk with us along the parade route, acting as safety monitors. They must attend one, 1 hour long monitor training before the day of the Parade. A schedule of training sessions can be found at http://www.sfjcf.org/groups/lgbt/pride-monitor.asp . WE NEED YOUR HELP! If we do not have enough contingency monitors, we will not be allowed to march in the parade.

How did you hear about our communal Jewish Pride contingent?

This a family-friendly event. We even have a Stroller Brigade! We hope you’ll be able to bring your children. Vanessa Eisemann (veisemann@yahoo.com) is organizing the Stroller Brigade. Please contact her if you would like to participate or have any questions. Will you be bringing your children?

Will you join us for breakfast? You will also be able to decorate your own kippa, and create a few signs to march with during breakfast.

For those with limited mobility, we have a Jewishly decorated trolley. Would you like to reserve a spot? The parade starts at 10:30 outside the Beale Street Bar and Grill and continues for 1.5 miles down market street ending at Civic Center.
