Epsilon Sigma Phi - National Honorary Extension Fraternity - Lambda Chapter Awards & Recognition

Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP) is dedicated to fostering standards of excellence in the Extension System and developing the Extension profession and professional. In part, the ESP Lambda Chapter works in New York state to recognize excellence in programming and outstanding support and service to the Cooperative Extension system.

Program staff and support staff alike have the opportunity to be recognized for their contributions. Program staff receiving awards then have the opportunity to become ESP members.

Additionally staff members - regardless of postion type - may be recognized for service to Cornell Cooperative Extension in multiples of 5 years, with each staff member nominated receiving a certificate. Note that it is up to each county/ Cornell department or unit to recognize staff for their years of service. County Executive Directors, or Cornell Department/Unit leadership can submit staff names to be recognized for years of service in multiples of 5. The person filling out the application is responsible for the accuracy of the number of years of service. A certificate will be prepared for each person to be presented by the Executive Director/ Cornell Department/Unit leader at an appropriate event. Certificates can be presented at an Annual meeting, or on the actual day of the anniversary, at a staff event, a Board Meeting or a department event. Certificates are sent shortly after the applications are received; they can be awarded locally at any time during the year.
