We are looking forward to an exciting term with your student who has been given the course Policies, Procedures, and Expectations for Economics or Psychology. Please review the information with your student, particularly the section that explains the End of Course Test in Economics required by the state of Georgia. Your student's score on this test must be counted as 15% of his/her final grade for the course, and ECONOMICS IS REQUIRED FOR GRADUATION.
Feel free to arrange a conference through the Guidance Office at Shaw High School, 706-569-3638, or email ajacobson@mcsdga.net or ruthadams@mcsdga.net if you have any questions or concerns throughout the term. Our commitment to you is to respond within 24 hours of receipt of all messages. Communication about your student's performance is of utmost importance. Therefore, we will send a progress report once a week beginning the full 2nd week of the semester to the email addresses provided in the form. If you do not have email capability, your student should request that one be printed each Friday.
To learn more about this the course and your student's assignments, please visit the website, http://TeacherWeb.com/GA/ShawHighSchool/Jacobson/, at least once a week. Please note Economics is offered on two different schedules so you must know your student's class block in order to find the appropriate calendar/assignments. Psychology is only offered on one schedule. After reviewing the Policies, Procedures, and Expectations sheet which can be obtained from your student or the noted website, complete the parent/guardian section of the form then have your student complete the remainder and submit.
