Policies and Information for Library Use during Free Periods
Classes have priority in the library over students who have free periods. The library is closed to unscheduled students when classes are in session.
The library staff will post a daily schedule at the front door of the library to show what periods are open and which are occupied by classes. For weeks that are particularly booked or empty, the schedule may be posted in School Loop to give some advance notice.
Students should see their Assistant Principal to obtain an Open Period Pass for periods 2-6. Students need both an Open Period Pass and a student ID card to use the Library.
Students must present the pass to library staff to be in the library during periods 2-6. We ask that students take out the pass/ID and display it in a visible place where they are studying.
Library services to students include: technical support, assistance in choosing books, help with using electronic data bases and print resources, and other academic support for research.
Quiet study time will be enforced for unscheduled during periods 1-7. The cafeteria is open for group study and ongoing conversation. Students who do not study quietly will be asked to leave. The library staff reserves the right to close the library if it is too noisy overall.
In addition to above, consequences for inappropriate library behavior may include:
-Referral to remain on file with assistant principal.
-Suspension of library privileges.
-Revoking technology access for any violations of the Technology Use Agreement.
I have read and understand the above guidelines and agree to abide by the library polices.
