Dinner and/or MLK Keynote for North Parkers

As most of you may know, Dartmouth is hosting events all week beginning next Monday to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King's work. This is an especially important MLK week, as it coincides with the inauguration of the first African American President of the United States! Certainly the most historical MLK week that any of us will witness for a long time to come.

The week is kicked-off with a keynote address that is always very popular and very amazing (see below). I've been to several of them, and I know first hand that everyone who attends leaves with insight and inspiration. That is why the keynote fills up very rapidly and requires speed in snagging those tickets.

As a North Parker, you are eligible for one of 12 tickets I've reserved so that some of us can go as a group. The keynote starts at 7pm, but there will be pizza, salad, soda - and sparkling water by special request - at my place at 6pm.

Our dinner conversation will be super casual and informal, but - depending on enthusiasm - will be geared towards MLK's principles as they apply to the countries of who is there. In other words, what can the United States learn from other countries, and vice-versa? How different will be race perception for our children's generation in the US, Canada, Argentina? The pun is, of course, food for body and food for thought.

Anyone can come for dinner. It's cool iff you have your own tickets, or just want to swing by for dinner.

WHAT: Dinner AND/OR Keynote
WHEN: Monday, January 19th 2009. The dinner is at my place at 6pm, and the keynote is at 7pm at the HOP.
