The purpose of this registry is to track VW vehicles and related variants that were produced prior to the conversion to the "oval window" beetle in mid 1953. This period is typically known in Beetle terms as the split window period, due to the two piece rear windows. This particular registry is geared to all pre mid 53 VW's with the exception of barn door buses which will be tracked through a different registry.
When entering data into this registry, please be as accurate as possible. If you do not have an answer to one of the questions, please leave it blank. If there are modifications to your car, such as a newer engine, cut in sunroof, converted to right hand drive, etc, please put those comments in the remarks section only. Please fill out the other information (for example, what is the original engine number, color, etc), only if you know it is original to the car. I would like this registry to represent how the cars originally left the factory. You can obtain much of the original information on your vehicle from the VW museum.
