MISSION STATEMENT: The American Jurist is an independent magazine where the law student bridges the gap between the law and the lay person. It is an outlet for Washington College of Law students to speak out, as well as a forum that empowers readers to explore the law behind the issues shaping the world today. The American Jurist stands at a revolutionary crossroads between the law and the media to ignite change – from civil liberties to international conflict – every issue is fair game. The law should not be an elitist institution that is only understood by lawyers and law students: our goal is to make legal analysis available to a broader audience. We encourage all perspectives, and we speak to readers in a tone that is dynamic, balanced, and accessible.
