Since fall of 2009, the Library has

• Introduced IE at the 2009 fall Library all staff meeting by inviting Will Van Roosenbeek to present on the Pride Center, its resources, and the student population served.
• Offered programming in partnership with School of Education and Campus Climate and Diversity
that showcases diversity. Prof. Darwin Henderson, Univ. of Cincinnati, presented sessions on Black American Children's Literature in spring 2010 and Prof. Ruth E. Quiroa, at National-Louis University, presented “New And Familiar Worlds: Latino/A-Themed Literature For Pre-K-High School, 2001-2010” in spring 2011.
• Partnered with McNair Grant program by providing targeted library instruction opportunities for program participants and other support for participants' research endeavors.
• Worked with CATL to publicize the Library Diversity Resources web page (http://www.uwlax.edu/murphylibrary/diversity/index.html).
• Continued to build the library collection in diversity areas and advertise the collection through the Diversity new book shelves, physical and e-displays and providing online search capability to identify diversity materials in the collection.
• Worked with the Office of Affirmative Action job ads and search processes which promote diversity and inclusion.
• Organized author events in concert with other campus units: Celebration of Campus Authors including Bruce L. Mouser’s Black La Crosse, Wisconsin, 1850-1906: Settlers, Entrepreneurs, & Exodusers and an author talk with Bruce L. Mouser featuring his For Labor, Race and Liberty: George Edwin Taylor, His Historic Run for the White House, and the Making of Independent Black Politics.
• Teamed up with the student organization, SAPA (Students Advocating Potential Abilities) and the art department to focus attention on Wisconsin artists with disabilities through the Creative Power: VSA Wisconsin’s Traveling Exhibition in Murphy's Mug and brought in Wisconsin artist, Jon Wos, for an artist talk; Mr. Wos also spoke at the 28th annual SAPA Most Accessible Awards Ceremony.
• Featured articles related to IE in the Library’s Fine Print.

Staff members have

• Served on an IE task force formed by the Inclusive Excellence Steering Committee.
• Participated in informal book discussions.
• Attended Diversity Brown bag sessions.
• Viewed Awareness through Performance productions.
• Attended Wisconsin Library Association Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table Business Meeting at Annual Conference.
• Became Allies to LGBTIQQA Students, Faculty and Staff.
