|1.The goal of the Distinguished Lecture Series program is to expose students to different points of view. This year Miss Lisa Ling spoke to the campus and discussed service to disadvantaged groups. |
2.University Centers assisted multicultural groups with their cultural celebrations to expose the campus to different ethnic traditions.
3.A book club grant was received from the Race and Ethnicity Program for the reading and discussion of "One Drop: My Father's Hidden Life; A Story of Race and Family Secrets" by Bliss Broyard and "A Small Place" by Jamaica Kincaid.
4.Individuals within University Centers were asked to develop individual goals to expose themselves to different cultures. Individuals attended meetings and interacted with students to expand their personal awareness.
5.University Centers sponsored a service learning trip to Jamaica during spring break. Twenty-three undergraduate students, two graduate students, and one staff member participated in the program.
