I pledge to live a sustainable life and take initiatives to better myself, my community, and my environment.

Turning my computer off every night.
Turn off the lights when I watch TV.
Use the energy-efficient settings on my computer and phone.
Plug my electronics and chargers into a power strip and turn it off when it's not being used.
Unplug my kitchen appliances when not in use.
Install only Compact Flourescent Light (CFL) bulbs.
Wash my clothes in cold water.
Take the stairs instead of the elevator when possible.
Cancel junk mail sent to home or office.
Choose paperless billing options.
Enable computer and printer settings to print on both sides of the paper.
Go electronic! Subscribe to online newspapers and magazines; send electronic greeting cards.
Properly recycle my light bulbs, batteries, and ink cartridges.
Recycle my paper and plastic.
Bring reusable bags when I go shopping.
Drink from reusable water bottles and mugs.
Donate unwanted items.
Buy used items instead of new whenever possible.
Use low flow showerheads and faucets.
Fix any leaky faucets.
Turn off my shower when lathering.
Shorten my shower by 2 minutes.
Turn off the water when I brush my teeth or shave.
Drink tap water instead of bottled water (use a water filter).
Wash only full loads of laundry.
Only run the dishwasher when it's full.
Buy locally produced items by shopping at farmers’ markets.
Try growing one food item at home.
Bring a homemade lunch to school or work at least once a week.
Take only what I'll eat.
Don’t buy bottled water and soda.
Use reusable mugs, utensils and plates whenever possible.
Drive less aggressively to save money and fuel.
Clean my car's air filter every four months.
Check that my tires are properly inflated each month to improve fuel economy.
Remove all unnecessary heavy items from my car.
Don't idle my car.
Save gas and reduce carbon emissions by observing speed limits (and save on speeding tickets!).
Never submit passwords through Google Forms.
