TNCC Student Senate Application (Currently seeking applicants for 2 open positions at the Historic Triangle campus and 7 for Hampton.)
SENATE ELECTIONS WERE HELD IN APRIL FOR THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR. VACANCIES OCCURING DURING THE FALL AND/OR SPRING SEMESTERS WILL BE FILLED BY THE STUDENT SENATE FROM A POOL OF ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS WHO WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN VACANT SEATS ON THE SENATE BECOME AVAILBALE.
The Student Senate application is open to all returning students who have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. Students must be in good disciplinary standing and maintain said standing. Students' eligibilty to serve as a TNCC Student Senator will be verified.
Senators are elected in the Spring of each year and serve for one school year beginning in August and ending in May. Senate meetings are held twice monthly on the Hampton campus with video conferencing to the Historic Triangle campus. Attendance at meetings is mandatory to remain in good standing with the Student Senate. The Student Senate will elect from among its membership a Lead Senator to act as Chair at all Student Senate meetings for the academic year.
The Student Senate consists of fifteen positions:
> Hampton Campus - 12 seats
> Williamsburg Campus - 3 seats
