For the purposes of this survey, SOCIAL TECHNOLOGY refers to personal computer and mobile phone use for communication (including email, texting, chat), social media (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, MySpace), and gaming (multiplayer online games such as World of Warcraft, Second Life, Farmville, Words With Friends, etc.).
