6K Walk for Water Registration Form

WHEN: April 27, 2011 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. THE GROUP WALK BEGINS AT 11:30 A.M., but participants are free to walk any portion of this path between 11:30AM-1:30PM. WHERE: Meet outside the 21st Street and Virginia Avenue, NW entrance of the State Department’s Harry S. Truman Building. Look for a table, balloons and volunteers wearing blue shirts. We’ll give you a map of the route which will follow along the Potomac River to Georgetown. WHAT: Walking the full distance of the Earth Day 6K Walk for Water will take between one and 1.5 hours (6k equals 3.7 miles). There is also a shorter 1 mile loop option. Dress appropriately for the weather. Wear comfortable shoes and bring your own water bottle and snacks. Make sure you have approval from your supervisor if you plan to be away from your desk for an extended period of time. NOTE: Participants walk at their own risk. Drinking fountains and restrooms will not be available along the route. However, the turn-around point is near the Washington Harbor Water Front, where there are restaurants with restroom facilities. The first 50 people to finish the walk will receive a Green Diplomacy Initiative (GDI) Goody Bag!
