Pledge to have zero food waste for Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week

Experts estimate that that 30% of food in the US, worth almost $50 billion, is thrown away annually (approximately 96 billion pounds) and represents 12% of all landfill material. Yes, food is biodegradable, but rotting food releases methane, a greenhouse gas 20 times stronger than CO2, so pledge to have no food waste on Nov 18th for Hunger and Homeless week! The US Dept of Agriculture estimates that recovering just 5 percent of Americans' food scraps would feed 4 million people for the day. Pledge to not have eyes bigger than your stomach and take only as much as you will eat. Please enter your email address below so we can remind you on Thursday, November 18th.
