All students in the Honors Program are encouraged to apply for Honors Leadership Grants to help defray the costs of qualifying educational endeavors. Grants are usually awarded in amounts ranging between $250 and $500 to support leadership, research, and conference presentations. before applying for a grant.
Please note that an honors student can only be awarded a maximum of one grant per academic year. Decisions about grant applications (including which to fund and how much will be given) are made by the Honors Advisory Council and the Director of the Honors Program and will be awarded based on the following criteria:
- Applicant's adherence to the Grant Allowances Guide
- Applicant's standing within the Moreau Honors Program (see below)
- The nature of the project proposal
- Amount of available money in the Honors Program Budget
- Amount of money awarded to the grant applicant in the past
The Honors Program generally does not fund programs that are organized and/or partly funded by Stonehill College (e.g., HOPE Trips, the New York City Externship). We do, however, consider requests for funds for travel to present SURE research at conferences.
You must complete this entire form in one session. It may be helpful to prepare your responses to the essay questions in a separate document and then paste them into the corresponding boxes on page three. The questions are listed in the Grant Allowances Guide for your convenience.
Please also note that all applicants are REQUIRED to provide an unofficial transcript from the college for the sole purpose of verifying their academic standing within the Honors Program. You may print your transcript from MyHill and then bring it to Elizabeth Pearson in Cushing-Martin (her desk is located at the end of the hallway to the left of the shovel display).
