Community Board 1 Affordable Housing Questionnaire

The following is a short survey for residents of affordable housing in Community Board One (generally Lower Manhattan south of Canal Street – a map is available at the following link: Affordable housing is a term that covers apartments with rents that are limited through certain government programs. The survey includes a pull-down menu with the addresses of many of the affordable housing units in our district. Please check if your building is on the list. The list is not comprehensive, however, so you are welcome to participate even if your apartment is not on the survey, in which case you are welcome to click “other” at the end of the list. If you would prefer to complete the survey over the phone or have any questions, do not hesitate to contact CB1 at 212-442-5050 or so that a staff member can assist you. Affordable housing in New York City is limited and can be very difficult to find even if you know how to go about it. We at Community Board 1 are strongly committed to retaining existing affordable units and creating new ones. This survey will help us gather the information we need to advocate effectively for more affordable housing in our district. Your participation is a very important part of this effort. You do not need to answer all of the questions and can omit any that might make you uncomfortable in any way. Any personal information you provide will be kept strictly confidential.
